Canvastique3D
A digital tool for fashion designers enabling real-time preview of handmade designs on 3D garments — built from scratch across web, mixed reality, and hardware.
Canvastique3D started from a gap: fashion designers and textile artists had no fast way to preview how a fabric or pattern would look on a 3D garment without committing to physical samples. Built the entire stack — a React + Three.js web application with a custom GLSL rendering pipeline for fabric visualisation, real-time cloth simulation, and an OpenCV-based workflow for deriving 3D-ready material data from flat photography.
On the hardware side, designed and built a Raspberry Pi photometric stereo dome that captures PBR textures (albedo, normal, roughness) from physical material samples. The companion Meta Quest 3 app brings the 3D preview into mixed reality.
